Dennis J. Darland's Speculations
- What Philosophy Is.
- I believe in ideas, but am not an idealist.
- I believe in matter, but am not a materialist.
- I believe in logic, but am not a logicist - except in one sense.
- I believe in reality, and am a realist, but am not a direct realist.
- I believe in free will, and am not a determinist.
- I believe in Universals.
- I believe there is no actual infinite.
- I am not a dogmatist, but am an adventurer.
- An Idea on Schrodinger's Cat.
- I believe the Double Slit Experiment Shows My Idea on Shrodinger's Cat must be wrong. So Quantum Mechanics (as others have claimed seems incompatible with Realism - as I understand it.
- Dark Matter is evidence that our laws of Physics may in some way be incomplete.
- More evidence.
- I think all knowledge we have (and if we don't have it, then its not knowledge) is limited to a domain in which we have experience. I think even logic originates in experience.
- An Idea on Events or Actual Occasions.
- Thoughts on Freedom and Responsibility.
- Was Whitehead a Determinist?
- My Philosophy in WilderLIFE
- The Eclectic Philosopher
- The Philosophical Programmer
